Be apart of the fastest growing career field in the country!

Anyone who pursues a career as a dental assistant will be part of one of the fastest-growing fields in the country.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that the demand for dental assistants will grow by 11% by 2030, a faster rate than most other fields. Last year, there were 330,200 dental assistant jobs in the nation and more than 5,000 in Louisiana – numbers that will certainly grow in the coming years. In fact, the federal government estimates that there will be about 44,000 openings for dental assistants each year, on average, over the decade.

Why is there such demand? In some cases, dental assistants move into different occupations or pursue career advancement with additional training. Others retire or exit the labor force for other reasons. At the same time, more people are pursuing dental services as part of a renewed commitment to their overall health. In addition, more baby boomers are keeping their original teeth than in previous generations, leading to an increased need to maintain and treat their oral health.

If you’re looking for a rewarding career with immediate job availability once you complete your training, becoming a dental assistant may be perfect for you.
